English Writing Class (Group 1)

I learned a lot in pass few weeks. Lucky all of our new lecturers are very kind. Ms. Thinessha is our lecturer of English writing class. In English writing skills class, I learned how to write proper English. For example, the ABC's of writing, the process of writing, principles of good writing, categories of writing and so on. I did not know these skills before when I am writing, now I learned it and I will use it, it is useful and helpful to my writing skills.

I am grateful that Ms. Thinessha taught us the writing skills, I believed all that I learned will help to my future. Lastly, I want to say thank you to Ms. Thinessha, because she always teach us patiently, even though some times she teach us like secondary school students, but we know she just want us to be successful in the future.

From the English Writing Skills Class, I learned what is audience and purpose. As a writer, we should always think about what is the purpose of writing, who is the audience, what form should we use when writing and also what style do we write in. These are the  useful trick in writing. Besides, I learned before writing we should always identify our audience first, such as thier age, gender, language, income statement, and also race and ethnicity. Not only that, I also learned rhetorical triangle. The three points on the Rhetorical Triangle has three point, which are Speaker, Audience and Subject, and it relate directly to the three classic appeals we should consider when communicating. For example, Ethos, Pathos and Logos. During the lesson, we learned a lot and I believe it will improve our writing skills so that we can use it for our future. I felt thankful because we have the chance to learn from Ms. Thinessha . I hope we can still learn more from Ms. Thinessha .

Wonderful week

13 May, it's Gex Birthday. He is my friend, I know him since the first day that I studied in PORTMAN College. Before his 2017 birthday, my friends and I decided to give him a surprise on his birthday. At that night, we planned to go to Korean BBQ Restaurant to have our dinner with Gex, but he didn't know that we were actually going to give him a surprise. That night everyone was very happy, everyone enjoyed their foods over there and we were chatting together all night long. After finished our dinner, we took out the cake and sang birthday song together to give Gex a surprise. He was very happy about it and we felt happy too. It was a wonderful and meaningful night. It was a fantastic and unforgettable memory too. Hope that all my friends can be that happy everyday. Happy Birthday Gex.

Week 3

This week is different with previous weeks, this week is very enrichment. Because of Mr. Sree and Ms. Thinessha's assignments, I shot videos and edit videos for the first time. Before I started to edit video, I asked my friend how to edit video and after that I edit the video by myself. Edit video is really tough, especially first time to edit video. I edited a 5 minutes video almost 6 hours. Thanks to my lecturers because of these assignment, I finally understood how tough was it. I can't imagine how long time I will use for edit a 13 to 15 minutes video. Besides, this week Writing Skill Class Ms. Thinessha taught us different things which is watch a video and explain and describe what is the video about. I think this is the good way to learning better, hope Ms. Thinessha will make do activities like this.
